Paul joined the firm in 2000 whilst finishing his post graduate qualifications. He became a Partner-Director in 2007 and is the Head of our Real Estate and Commercial Property Department.

He has over 10 years experience in all aspects of Property and Commercial law having being regularly involved in both contentious and non-contentious work representing a wide spectrum of commercial and private clients and attending Land Adjudicators’ hearings, Land Tribunals, County Courts, High Courts and on some occasions the Court of Appeal aided by barristers.

Paul advises commercial and private clients both from the UK and from overseas on setting up their businesses and joint ventures and negotiates Leases and other commercial agreements on their behalf. He also deals with Lease renewals and terminations, dilapidations and disrepairs, repossessions and all other property disputes including easements and boundaries involving both commercial and private clients. Paul also deals with new developments, planning and environmental issues and gives legal support to our residential conveyancing team.

He also advices on Land Acquisitions, Assignments, Transfer of Equity and he drafts Option and Pre-emption agreements which he enforces where necessary by attending County Courts and High Courts in cases of disputes. He has experience in mediation and alternative dispute resolutions.

Paul has particularly developed his practice of enfranchisements and lease extensions developing his expertise having acted in some most complex cases and County Court and Tribunal disputes involving missing title deeds and landlords, leases over 400 years old, missing easements and disputes over consents to alternations and developments and disputes over valuations and validities of notices being served involving both commercial and residential landlords and tenants. Paul has been regularly recommended throughout Buckinghamshire and outside to deal with this aspect of property work.

Paul provides regular consultation support to our civil and criminal litigations teams having previous extensive experience in those fields. He has developed a particular interest in Intellectual Property and E-commerce disputes and given his international connections he is particularly interested in EU Property and Commercial matters having acted for overseas commercial agencies in preserving their client’s legal rights in the UK.

Outside the office Paul enjoys sport and his children with whom he spends most of his time. He is an active member of the Aylesbury Tennis Club which he tries to help restore to its long forgotten original glory. He speaks German and Czech.
