A corporation or company is considered to be a legal person and, in law, can be criminally liable. Of course, a company cannot be sent to jail and cannot be convicted of certain offences by the very fact that they are a company, for example a company cannot commit rape or bigamy. However, a company can be liable for manslaughter by virtue of the actions of one of its agents.
