Offences for Companies and Corporate Liability

See also our services for Company and Business Law.

A corporation or company is considered to be a legal person and, in law, can be criminally liable. Of course, a company cannot be sent to jail and cannot be convicted of certain offences by the very fact that they are a company, for example a company cannot commit rape or bigamy. However, a company can be liable for manslaughter by virtue of the actions of one of its agents. This is a rapidly developing area of law and we are able to advise you of the potential liabilities the company may face and provide representation for the company or corporations if it is accused of a crime.
